Four Common Signs of Water Heater Problems

The most common sign that you may have a problem with your water heater is when your water does not get hot. However, there are four other common signs that you may need to replace your water heater.

  • POOR WATER QUALITY: Does your water look sandy or cloudy?  This can mean that there is sediment build up in your tank.  Do you have rusty or metallic smelling or tasting water?  This can be a sign that you need to replace your water heater.
  • WATER LEAKS: If you find a puddle of water around your hot water heater, this can mean that you need to replace your current water heater.
  • RUST BUILDUP: Does your tank have rust? If so, it can eat through your tank and get into your water supply and cause your water heater to leak. Any of these issues may mean you need a new water heater.
  • STRANGE NOISES: Are you hearing rattling or hissing noises coming from your water heater? If so, call Ferris Plumbing & Heating today on (603)937-5069 for a free evaluation.
